The Visitors copied and pasted some girls pics from my site's albums which are hidden from guests and uploaded it as attachments in the pics of hot chicks thread on his own site. I probably would've never noticed hadn't he asked me to join his site to post xenforo styles a month or so ago. Because he is an admin of his own forum, I don't want to get into retarded board war by sending him a warning and arguing with him. What would you do?

Are the images posted by members of your site? Meaning are they pictures of a female member of your site she took her self?

Send in a DMCA, but ask him to take them down first.

This... If there are multiple pictures, send in a separate take down request for each one.

Not that I am defending some of the absolutely stupid comments that were made, but the flip side of the coin is that sometimes Brogan needs to realize that customers letting off some steam is normal and his condescending remarks doesn't do anybody any good. As demonstrated by some staff members at another forum app' support site, just because a staff member is knowledgeable it does not mean that they know how to handle customers properly.

I think like everything in life it's all about balance. I don't blame customers for wanting updates but I don't blame developers for wanting to keep things to themselves. Road maps might well satisfy customers assuming they are delivered upon but they also keep competitors in the loop which is never a good thing.

Like Brogan I administrate a forum on behalf of a commercial organisation and I make it a policy to keep any moderation neutral and totally devoid of any emotional baggage. I think in general Brogan does a fantastic job but it's clear to see of late that some of the posted content is testing his patience to the limit. Personally I'd like to see a XF take on a couple more admins which might help ease the pressure. There was a classic example of what can occur when pressure builds to the point where an employee blows their stack on a competitor's forum a few months ago.

I do find the general tone of conversation over at XF somewhat disappointing. I'm spending a lot of time there just now, searching the content in preparation for migrating all my forum to XF. So much of what comes back fills me with dismay, people that are old enough to know better acting like spoilt children.... or maybe it's just my age :p

Customers always think road maps are necessary, but suppliers generally see them as being a PITA.

Give a customer an availability/ship date, then miss it by just one day and you'll see what I mean. Or try to cover your backside and add 72 hours to that availability/ship date and that same customer is griping you are taking too long. And, as you mentioned, supplying any kind of date lets your competition see where you are and what you are doing.

As everyone knows, Life is not perfect. But manufacturers and suppliers are always forced to play under a different set of standards. And the constant, ongoing and silly speculation that takes place over XenForo releases and over Kier's activity on the company forums must take a tremendous amount of satisfaction out of the equation for Kier, Mike and Ashley. And that's an outright shame.

I completely agree here. Customers need to be allowed to vent. And they should be allowed to ask questions in regards to the direction of the product without being scrutinized by the fanboys, most of whom, it seems, only run hobby boards. Floren's thread shouldn't have been closed. The offending members should have received warnings and temp bans and a company representative should have addressed his concerns. I don't know why companies that build forum software run any different than professional businesses out there, simply because they have an online presence and are more involved with the customers.

LOL I forgot all about that. No and I decided the best way to handle this is to ask a coder to create the following two extra permissions for XFR User Albums:

Followed (Only Members You Follow Can View)
Custom (Only Members You Add Below Can View)
