Thanks for the tips you guys! I'm with Hostgator right now, and my forum's a bit slow. I don't think I'm quite big enough to go semi-dedicated yet, but I've bookmarked that MDD one. ^_^
Can't answer your question but I've been with Linode for 6/7 months now and I love them. I should point out they're completely unmanaged.
I use MDD and I'm quite happy with the service. My only caveat is that they tend to schedule downtime for the middle of the night in the US and I'm my time zone is about 7 or 8 hours out of step with that so it is not ideal.
I use Dreamhost.com and have been with them for about 10 years. I am very satisfied and when they screw up, they bring in a solution. April was full of downtime (which is rare) but they credited my account $200.00 because of all the downtime. I started out shared and then went to VPS, now I run a dedicated server with them. I also register most of my domain through them as well
I'm with MDDhosting. It's only been a month but so far I love them and can't fault them at all. From the point of view of a site hosting newb they've been fantastic with answering any questions I've had. I'm sure Mike doesn't sleep.
For a while I was burning through hosts, then I found Hawk Host and have been with them for several years now and have been really happy. They respond quickly to service requests, but best of all I've hardly had to place requests. I have a reseller account and don't see changing anytime soon.
I've got a VPS on Liquid Web. Excellent US-based support with decent response times - I'm quite happy there.
