Thanks for the tips you guys! I'm with Hostgator right now, and my forum's a bit slow. I don't think I'm quite big enough to go semi-dedicated yet, but I've bookmarked that MDD one. ^_^
Can't answer your question but I've been with Linode for 6/7 months now and I love them. I should point out they're completely unmanaged.
I use MDD and I'm quite happy with the service. My only caveat is that they tend to schedule downtime for the middle of the night in the US and I'm my time zone is about 7 or 8 hours out of step with that so it is not ideal.
I use Dreamhost.com and have been with them for about 10 years. I am very satisfied and when they screw up, they bring in a solution. April was full of downtime (which is rare) but they credited my account $200.00 because of all the downtime. I started out shared and then went to VPS, now I run a dedicated server with them. I also register most of my domain through them as well
I'm with MDDhosting. It's only been a month but so far I love them and can't fault them at all. From the point of view of a site hosting newb they've been fantastic with answering any questions I've had. I'm sure Mike doesn't sleep.
For a while I was burning through hosts, then I found Hawk Host and have been with them for several years now and have been really happy. They respond quickly to service requests, but best of all I've hardly had to place requests. I have a reseller account and don't see changing anytime soon.
I've got a VPS on Liquid Web. Excellent US-based support with decent response times - I'm quite happy there.
I've been using HostGator for a year now and so far I don't have any problem with them. What I'm looking for is a host that offers a money-back guarantee and I find them reliable. At first I hesitated to try their service but after reading a review about HostGator, I realized that they're safe and secure. Before HostGator, my personal site is hosted on a free platform (WordPress).
I've heard HostGator before and heard good reviews. Unfortunately I already have a host and so far my host is doing good.
I'm with hostgator. Not always pleased with them, but overall it's a good service. My new VPS works pretty well too, so maybe the problems were only with shared hosting.
I used HostGator before. I was satisfied with their uptime but their support was extremely slow. It took about a week for them to reply to a support ticket I had even though I responded several times. Then they were quite grumpy about me replying to it several times even though they were a few days a part but hey my sites were down and I was a paying customer. I decided to leave them and it took 3 months for them to transfer my domain to another registrar. To top it off, I had to cancel a card to get them to quit taking money out even though I had cancelled to begin with and then they sent me an email saying I was suspended, LOL.
