I recently switched from Hostgator to Hostpolar.com and my community is always fast - thanks to their servers and the ability to maximize server resources.

So, who's your hosting provider? How long have you been with them?

    Software You Use:
    IPB, XenForo
AdminExtra runs on KnownHost servers - had no downtime, a couple of issues when we first moved over where the server would ban IP addresses for no real reason, but that was sorted pretty quick by them :)

I used 123-reg, but left after a week (I would strongly recommend not using them) to move to an American Company called http://ethelitehosting.com/

Customer service is excellent, speed on my site is excellent and I'm paying about 3 pound a month and I'm in England using IPB. (American hosts tend to run slowly at distance, but not in this case)

I host myself. This being said, my company purchases all servers exclusively through WiredTree. Have been with them for quite some time now and they continue to impress me. They are a great bunch of folks and an absolute pleasure to work with.

A lot of peeps that I know who run forums referred me to Mike, owner of MDD Hosting,. and we've been with him for (I think) 2 years now.

He's kept us strong on shared hosting .

Beautiful site for your hosting, Chris

I'm only on shared hosting now for my sites, it looks like Wired is doing larger hosting than that only ^^ Adding them to my list of look out fors though.... When our year is up, it's always time to look over where we're coming from and where we're going.

    Thank you very much!

WiredTree does indeed cater to those looking for more isolated environments with the resource allocation and power to handle larger websites or communities. This being said, I maintain a smaller VPS for my low-activity personal websites / blogs and you really can't go wrong. If you're looking for fully-managed solutions provided by a very solid company, WiredTree should most certainly be considered. Truly, I can't say enough about these folks.

I see that you're currently with MDDHosting. Mike is a standup guy and definitely someone who knows what he is doing. Great choice! :)

I am using a small VPS from WiredTree, have been with them since november and plan on staying with them, and when the time comes and I can afford it, I plan on getting a dedicated server from them.

Is MDD better than linode? Certainly cheaper, but I want to know which is better.

Am using Hostgator. I have used them in the past. They are ok, but I remember they had a lot of downtime at night...If that happens again and I have a lot of members I will probably switch. (Am a night owl.) Staying up all night and not being able to work on your website is the worst!

Most of my sites run on futurehosting and hostgator

Over the years I have tried a lot of host, some I do not even remember the name to. For the time being, hostgator gets the job done, and I like their chat feature for support.

Glad to have you on-board :). The semi-dedicated platform is a very nice one indeed.
