I'm totally with you on this

    SHAWN'S POST:

and I also "get" where Shawn is coming from, only because we were "lessonned" once.

We had a custom Christmas skin for our first few years, one of our mods made it himself, beautiful crafted work. Some new poster showed up and insisted in their first intro post that we have, instead, a more "neutral" header instead of Christmas. I forget the word they wanted us to put up, but it could have been Wikkan or something? I don't remember anymore. Well, Schot did change the header, but we made it a as a secondary skin option. We made it so that under skin chooser, they could choose a non christmas skin, but it would only change the header.

We did a lot of talking about it after tween our mod team, and we all decided that from now on, when peeps show up, they are going to see our DarkMatters, cuz it's who we are. We didn't build the site to appease everyone in the world, and leave us misearable.

We built it to talk about who we are, our own interpretation of the world, and how we express ourself. It's what makes our site, and indeed all sites distinct, marvelously unique and interesting.

    Say hello to Christmas!

    :)

This is a good question Shelley,
To be honest I have never done any themes over the years and just gone all year round, however am loving xF so much that I am looking to work on one of our designs, adding your xmas membercard etc but heavily change things all up colour and picture wise to keep within the confines of our website - so giving it a darker christmas look such as bad santa :)

I am working on it and hoping as December 1st gets closer we will be able to activate it for the month before reverting to what we have at the moment :)
