It might be imagining it but did the logo get a make over since yesterday? I recall it looking a bit uninspired but it looks great now.
Congratulations on your new site it looks great. I also went through the difficult decision whether to shift to IPB or XF. Tried both. IPB has a very limited modding community and I need at least one major crucial mod on my business site. Plus they do way too many small updates. XF is LOVELY I do agree. But again I couldn't get anyone interested in redesigning my crucial mod. Also one of my sites is business, which supports 7 people in our livelihood. Its members are also not just personal interest but crucially dependent on our services to educate kids with difficult personal needs. Disruption by change is a big deal for them. Also I need a system that is long term stable. With the court case still ongoing I did not want to risk our whole livelihoods for seven of us and the vulnerability of the client group just in case we had to switch back again. I did think of running the business site on VB and others on XF but it's a headache to cope with different systems. So sadly I'm still lumbering along on VB. It's OK just not the fun of XF, though the modding is great esp. now I got myself an ace coder who just does what I ask within days! If you're all VERY nice to me I'll tell him about you!
Thanks for the kind words Good luck in whatever decision you make with regards to your forum in future and we're nice to everyone
I re-designed that earlier today. I also felt it was lacking a little something and so decided the 3 character figures had to go back. It may still go through some subtle changes when i next re-visit it.
This was a fantastic decision Lisa. This software is so lightweight, fast, fun, (You temptress Lisa! ) and Shelley has done an absolute marvelous job here, didn't know she was up to doing full scale work like this. Very impressive Party on! gogo
Hi there, Azhria. I'll confess like a few others that I had seen the site from afar, but it was only after the "shake up" that I decided to finally join. The fact that you feel the spark for this site reignited within you actually is reflected in the site itself. Good luck with it and keep shaking.
See, even though I didn't sign up here because of the forum software AdX is using, I'm being active more because of that software. I sit on some of these other sites and think to myself "Man, I wish this was on xenForo." When I saw the switch AdX made to xenForo, I figured I might as well start being active on the site with the software I ENJOY using.
I agree. I don't like using forums in general but when they are powered via XenForo I am able to stand it since I can keep up easily and generally browser easier.
Lisa made the right decision to switch over from IPB to XenForo, before she changed this forum had died and you know that was the case. It had been like that for a while and you frequent the forum enough to have spotted yourself. Even you never posted hardly anymore as (an IPB fanatic) when it was still in place, so much for the IPB fans leaving then eh!!! She had absolutely nothing to lose doing it. Either do it, or continue on as things was before with IPB (very easy choice really). The best decision she's made by far and I really don't get why you have this hatred for Kier Darby and XenForo in general? What's has it ever done to you, or do you just like to hate everything? And you was only posting the other day in a different thread here that you was setting up a ZEN site now after liking this one - make your mind up?
I wish I had never listened to you back in the day about moving to IPB. Worst.Decision.I.Ever.Made. Time to fix the wrongs with my site.
Well I don't get why your so persistent about keeping with IPB for? I've seen your sites, I'm aware of them all. None are doing anything for you really and your even stuffing some full of ads now because they are unused. I get the feeling you just like the fact IPB offers you more add-ons to use, along with more features. Your a geek for add-ons and forum features e.t.c. But all that matters little if nobody is taking the time to use your sites. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't all boil down to the software used. Other reasons for none use are the obvious Twitter and Facebook problems. But right now I'd say your going to have more chance of people talking on your forum using XenForo, that's been proved here the past few days compared to when they used IPB.
Not to bash ADX or anything, but there was a lot more influx of posts when it was converted to IPB then there is now after being converted to XF.
Well that's a fair comment to be honest, I never did take note the pace of posting here at first when they moved from vBulletin 3 to IPB 3. To be honest, and I have mentioned this already on XenForo to Lisa in her post there. There will always be that initial posting frenzy at first because it's something new that's been changed. I do expect things will slow down, that's bound to happen.
