I'm glad you asked! For those of you who've been around since we opened, then you'll know that when we first came online we were running on vBulletin 3.8. Since 3.8 was announced to be going EOL, we felt that we had to look at alternative options, since vB4 wasn't quite what we were looking for. We opted to move to IPB, incorporating their addons for use in various parts of the site. Being interested in all forum software, when xenForo came out, it was only to be expected that I would get a licence and play around with it. And the more I used it, the more I really enjoyed it. After opening another forum using xenForo, I made the decision to move Admin Extra to the xenForo software. This wasn't a decision I made lightly, a lot of thought and arguments both for the move and against it were taken into account. But it kept coming back to the simple fact that I really love using the software. I hope you'll bear with us while we continue making adjustments. Our custom Review mods will be returning very soon, converted to the xenForo software and we might have some other things lined up in the near future! There have been a few changes which will be documented in a separate post or two regarding the way the site and accounts are set up. So to that end, I hope you enjoy the new look and feel of Admin Extra. PS - any problems, suggestions, etc, post in the Feedback and Suggestions forum and we'll get on it
Good luck with the change. Expect an influx of zen fanatics and an exodus of IPB and vbulletin fanatics. No doubt the faces will change as will the atmosphere. It already looks to be happening judging by some of the posts and posters I've seen while reading today. Can't say I agree with the decision to change. Then again I'm biased and you all know how I feel about zen. I've had a license for it since it went on sale and even after messing with it I still don't see why people think it's the next best thing since sliced bread.
Bob, honestly we didn't have a whole load of IPB or vB fanatics posting either .... Admin Extra was just floating around in cyberspace doing a whole lot of nothing. I had two choices - shake things up or close it down. And I'm always up for a challenge!

I know I don't get around alot, not a fan of Xen but I hope it works for you. I will still drop in on occasion. I not a hater of Xen (Hate vB4), it's just not my choice of software.

Great change, I will visit more often now I am not a fan of IP.Board at all but I like XenForo a lot so it will be a lot easier for me to cope with it. I tried to add an avatar and it wont take anything over 100kb, wont even resize stuff and also, editing my profile, a lot of the options are duplicated. Just wanted to let you know!
You know, i have both an IPB and Xen lisece (geeks-talk.com) and i can't say i prefer one over the other. I belive they both have there strong and week points! It's gonna take a bit of getting use to this change though
