What types of services do you own? I have a few shared accounts with different hosts - Don't use shared anymore.

Two VPS's - Shared Hosting | Reseller Hosting | Master Reseller | VPS | VDS | WHM reseller | Cheap Hosting | Affordable Hosting <- Not in use!
VPS Hosting by KnownHost, Virtual Hosting, Virtual Private Server Hosting, Managed VPS Server <- Running 2 sites on there.
One reseller account - HostDogtor | Premium Shared and Reseller cPanel and WHM Web Hosting <- great support!
Dedicated server - Don't have one.

    What about you??

Wow vBSEO "Get link title" is a post ruin-er lol.

I have a reseller and a 'VPS' (The old sense of the term, meaning it comes without root), with my friend Musehosting (Division of GFXGaming) - Support.

I have numerous dedicated servers for different things, but the most recent I have gotten is with: McHost | Fast Shared Hosting, Reseller Hosting, VPS Hosting, and Dedicated Servers, who I suggest if your in the market for a German-hosted dedicated server. I have a Xenon12 plan with them (Was upgraded from one of their specials due to some difficulty when ordering).

We have a VPS or semi-dedicated server which currently hosts 1 forum and 4 sites.

We have a VPS that holds a good majority of ImperialBB Staff's sites, as well as ImperialBB itself and it's related resources.

I wish we could take the development resources off, but we can't afford a specific server for them right now.

Randy do you like wiredtree. I've heard great things about them and I've wanted to try them out. I just have no need for a VPS./ dedicated server.

I love them, one of the few hosts that I consider to be a good host anymore. I think about 3 web hosting companies are good these days and WiredTree is one of them.

I can get a Dedicated Server for $59.00 a month that is:
    ADM Opteron 2.2GHz
    Dual core
    250GB SATA hard drive
    1TB/month bandwidth

    Is that worth the price?

    Is that an un-managed server?

I don't see the point in going with a cheap dedi, no raid, poor quality parts, low resources, no management options.

I would rather go with a large VPS / Hybrid Server.

Yikes! I can't believe I'm just getting to this thread now.

Shawn, unless you are comfortable with taking care of the technical (e.g. hardware, software, security maintenance, etc.) aspects of your server, purchasing an 'un-managed' machine is not always the best choice. It's also important to keep in mind that as the owner of the server, you will be responsible for keeping the software up-to-date and stable. When purchasing a server with a managed plan, these tasks are generally taken care of (depending on the level of technical service and support offered by the data center). In the end, it all comes down to the following:

    • Fully-Managed, Managed, or Self-Managed. There are distinct differences between each of these three levels. The services and support offered with each vary and depend greatly on the SLA (Service Level Agreement) outlined by each server provider. If you purchase a server from Company A, don't expect to purchase a server from Company B and receive the same level of service.
    Best of luck. ;)

Most services have horrible techs though :D.

When I don't have time to do all the upkeep (Security/updates), I generally go with a 3rd party tech service, just because I have little faith in most datacenter techs.
