I'm installing it now on my dead XenForo forum. It wasn't doing nothing but just sitting there anyway.

    What's New in vBulletin 4.2 Alpha 1?
I can't believe they finally have a navigation manager. That's wassup.

They've definitely made an effort with this one. Now, if only we had an nicer looking ACP and they udpated the frontend style . . . :)

NO NO NO lol, leave the admincp alone, horrible to look at but functional sound, IPB went for the nice looking admincp and it was/is horrible to get anything done. Not fussed about the front end either really as i never use the default skin for anything. Cosmetics is nothing , id rather see everything working and being more server freindly ( in terms of resources ) than anything else or YET MORE features.

The above is a good move in the right direction though, i think more than anything it shows that the people they have brought in from Modders on VB.org are having a good influence on development .

I wish vBulletin would give the option in the CP to order the left hand side-bar and the contents of vB Options alphabetically. Life would be so much easier.

This is all nice but I would rather see an effort at developing version 5. The code base is getting dated and long overdue for a complete re-write.

Well, if they're gonna charge almost a full license price for people who have already bought it, I hope the VB5 will come in 10 years. Am sick and tired of paying, getting my site messed up, having to re-design all the stuff etc. Well might actually have no more licenses to renew, if I get to some big bucks will move all the VBs to xenforo.

I hate vBulletin now. I tried twice to install it on one of my sites and I ran into so many problems configuring stuff, I gave up. Xenforo 4 Life.

What problems did you have? vBulletin is very simple to setup.

I personally like the 4.2 version. The only thing I don't like it everyone lands on the activity feed as the first page. I am sure there is a way to stop this but I haven't dug deep enough into it yet to find out. On my one vb powered forum, I am using 4.2 and so far I enjoy it :)

Navigation manager - move it from the first item :) At least that worked for me!

You do know that it takes 15 steps just to get from a to b? Right?

While that doesn't bother me, many casuals will be turned off.

I may buy a Vbulletin license and give it a go to fully learn it.
that admin panel is horrible though.

Unless it's changed, it's a far sight better than that monstrosity that IPB forces you to use.

the way the admin panel in VB is set up is way more....involved than anything i have used on XF and IPB.
