I've just had a member register for three accounts. Fair enough. Different IP... but they kept the exact same email address prefix in front of the domain. So basically, the accounts were: 1. Bobsmith@live.com 2. Bobsmith@hotmail.com 3. Bobsmith@yahoo.com I think they don't know what 'hiding identity' is.
lol - I'm suprised that they went to the effort of changing IPs when they used email addresses like that
Same, this made me lol xD, seriously though why change IP's when using the exact same email address but with different email providers?
Not really a valid reason to do it, but it's probably because he actually owned those email addresses and was too lazy/didn't want to go register a new email address just for this. This is also assuming you require email verification on signup.
Did they all actually validate (assuming you use email validation)? Maybe he kept trying to re-register because his validation email didn't come through to some of his email addresses.
You gotta admit that is funny. but it also sounds like something someone who's a newbie at spamming would do... no offense.
