<< Prity much sums up what I think about it. I have to admit, I'm focusing on it primarily after looking at IPB navigation menu overlay which is structurally much cleaner and better layed out. So I'm spending far too much time with this area but just wondering if anyone else styled it? I think I went a little overkill with designing and applying a fixed image when it could have been done via css (though the pattern background and gradients top and bottom layers probably couldn't be done with css). Getting rid of those huge radius borders and eventually the box-shadow but meh really struggling to come up with something with regards to styling this area. Anyone else primarily focused on styling this area?
Not really as I find that I seldom use that function anyways...is that just me or is it something others rely on heavily?
+1 for those who don't use that menu... at all. I don't know if it because the icon isn't intuitive enough to say to me "Hey, click here for a quick navigation menu!" or I am just so used to using the navbar that I don't think about the jump menu.
I have to agree with everyone and also confirm I seldom if ever use the quick navigation since it's actually technically quicker to get to that area if your on index. I guess it's more that I know that area isn't styled and it'll be bugging the crap out of me knowing it's in the state that it's in. Regardless of that, i've since moved onto another area and will come back to the ironically title quick navigation area later. I've spent far too much time on it and basically accomplished nothing with it.
I didn't use vB's forum jump menu. I don't use XenForo's Quick Nav Menu.. I do use the IPB quick nav implementation simply because I can get to certain albums in the gallery or a single blog in the blogs with one click from the index. Even then, though, I barely use it either.
I've only ever used the IPB one as it isn't as clustered as the XF one and I can get to blogs/gallery albums/download sections/sub forums deep in space a lot quicker.
