I don't want to make any assumptions or anything but I just tried to check XF forums and was greeted with not being found, after checking their main domain I got the following: Forgotten renewal maybe? Edit: After taking a quick look at the expiry date it's probably they forgot and should be fixed as soon as they notice it?
Someone from Namecheap confirmed on Twitter that the domain did indeed expire. Presumably it will be back in the morning when someone renews the domain. (or, alternatively, it spells DOOM AND GLOOM that I'm sure everybody's favorite forum trolls will spout at the mouth about for the next month )
I noticed this and asked a few people on aim if they could visit it and they were able to. I guess it's taking some time for the DNS to propagate around the globe to see that it's down. Sucks too...bc I was in the middle of making a pretty lengthy post. I guess I'll have to wait for tomorrow to C&P it.
I hate to be one of the negative people. But given the issues they already have, small(and human) mistakes like this should be easily prevented in my opinion by autorenew. Granted, it was probably just simple human error but it just gives people another reason to spout of something and in my opinion, a business should always be on top of something like this.
I checked numerous times with my sleepy eyes if I misspelled xenforo.com somehow. Someone could post on their twitter account at least.
Well i think they are in the UK and it is only like 6 or 7 inn the a.m. i believe there, so maybe they are not aware as of yet.
Yeah; I think anyone who would have access to the Twitter account (I imagine that's just Kier and/or Mike) is asleep, which is also why the domain isn't renewed, hehe. I don't think it's anything to worry about unless we're in the same position two days from now or something.
I was worried til I found this thread that IB won or something and was being kept on the low still at vB's forum. Hopefully someone notices at xF before it expires to back-order auction.. Wonder how much IB would pay to be highest bidder.
We are in the same timezone as they so I know it's (or was) pretty early now. I'm sure it will have a reasonable explanation. Just not the type of thing that happens all the time
I don't know if it's the fact I'm too high or you're just randomly talking, cause to be honest I have no clue what you're talking about.
As far as I know even the domain expired the domain owner has a 30 day periot of time to renew until it hits the redemption periot. So no need for the bells to ring.
You must be high as I was pretty clear or so I thought so. As I said, I was concerned til finding this thread something had come about in the lawsuit as I did not realize the domain was only going to Namescheap as it had expired. The highest bidder part was, a domain is locked to you for 30 days after it expires, after 10 days registers rape you in high fees to get it back. In the event your 30 days expires, if anyone back-orders a domain, it goes up for auction between those that back-ordered. Clearer now?
You can still access the site Edit your hosts file: 184.173.238.122 xenforo.com Win 7: C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\ or %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\
