Is the resource usage of Xenforo lower than ... (vB, IPB, Mybb, ...) or even higher? When it's higher, on which amount of users and posts is it lower than the competitors? Is there a download base addon? I would be happy to create an additional site through the plugin with categories, download amount, description and changelog for uploadet files to make a clean, fast and secure download base for my users. Xenforo got no auto updater in the admincp?
