Can anyone explain exactly what cloud hosting is? Is it better/worse than VPS?

Thanks guys :) So would we say it's sort of between shared and VPS then in the hosting hierarchy?

CloudLInux (not to be confused with cloud hosting) is rather interesting. They could have used a different name though.lol

But its good to see mike pushing to find good new features and products to use.

I was actually kinda surprised to see how fast this technology came upon us for our websites. As well...one of my friends now never even buys big size ipods anymore...he just buys cloud accounts, and wherever he goes his cloud follows him with all his data.

p.s. Vilandra, I'm actually not sure how to answer your question regarding it's place in a hierarchy you posted, but Mike is a member on these boards as well, and if he sees this topic, he can perhaps offer more info.

I agree, CloudLinux is a tad "misleading" as far as it's name goes but at least I can honestly say that Igor and crew didn't intend to be misleading :)

I can't really blame them. The only OS name that made any sense to me is CentOS and even then you need to know what it means.

I'm curious Mike how is cloud Linux working out for you? Is it an improvement so far?
