How do you build community spirit on your site? Do you have any techniques in place or have you found that when community spirit becomes a strong enough force on your site that some members start to feel isolated and alone?

It really is simple stuff like:

    • An introduction forum where you as the owner and others actually reply and give genuine welcome
    • Be to be active and participating in the forum as much as possible.
    • Respond to member questions.
    • The site design plays a part too. Make it look good like yo ucare about your site members notice.
    • Engage members about what they want in the site and listen. I just had members ask about a calendar of events. IPB has this I've just never turned it on and in just a few days it has become very popular and my members are thankful.
    • Going along with design, don't clutter your site with ads. Place them tactfully.
    • When there are problem users address them immediately... but
    • Don't be an SOB of a Administrator.
