:| I already have a huge backlog of projects, and I'm recovering from surgery (Which I'm going through again next week). I need clones, and lots of them.
Told ya...there's tons of sites out there that copy everything we do...some steal the design, some go to the designer asking for a similar design. Now they are all starting to convert from IPB to xF. Funny stuff.
I'm still letting things settle. Most of my stats haven't really changed...EVEN UNIQUES PER DAY! I was expecting some huge drops like what happened when we moved to IPB from vB. We lost roughly 20k uniques a day and this time we've gained 1-2k/day on average. But it's way too soon to tell...but that surprised me since we implemented this AFTER everyone went back to school from winter break. But the one thing that has really impressed me is the page speed that Google is reporting: http://www.imagesnatcher.com/img/517a7eb5a58c45f5/ - Google Analytics http://www.imagesnatcher.com/img/6b6ac9d45bb10170/ - Google Webmaster Since September on IPB, we've seen Google report between 10-19 seconds. Over the last week, we've seen between 3-4 seconds. My users are loving how fast everything is! And one thing that may be contributing to the not so higher pageviews per visitor is a lot of the features they use, keeps them on the same page rather than sending them to 2-3 pages. While that was IPBs excuse when we moved to them from vB, I don't remember many of their features keeping people on the same page that vB didn't. The only one I can really think of was the log in pages. Anyways...more reporting to come. I have to figure out where I am keeping all of the stats I saved from IPB now...like posts, threads, registrations, etc per day and per month. Once I find those and let this all settle in, I'll start posting more stats.
I have to agree the speed of xenforo is really nice. You can really tell when you're on 3G cell service or a slower home internet connection, the thing just zooms after the first page load. All that dynamic stuff helps cut down on resources/bandwidth as well so you're right when you suspect that has something to do with it. You're exchanging less data with the client to do the same thing as before. It's just like when the "quick reply box" was first thought up. Replying to a thread used to be something that required three full page loads and a re-direct. Eventually that was cut down to just a re-direct, and later it was done with AJAX. Posting rates went up on my forum with all of these changes just because it was less of a hassle to reply to the thread. Xenforo has taken that concept and applied it anywhere possible, and I think that's why some people see a spike in usage after they convert. It's simply less hassle to use all the bells and whistles because you're not getting redirected all over the place.
Just logged into my webmaster account to tell Google bot to increase its indexing on my site since we just converted and saw this http://www.imagesnatcher.com/img/6b6ac9d45bb10170/ Added to the post above about page speed.
