Yes, it's interesting that a game so old and well established has so many rules inconsistencies and by nature umpires are very opinonated. I see my site as a fraternity more than a forum. People get heated but for the most part keep it civil.

    Thanks for visiting.

Yea you guys seem okay. :)

I got a question. When I played, I once slid for second base feet first and I got kinda air borne and did this flying kick thing. No on purpose...just kinda happened. Anyway I kicked the ball out of the other kids glove and was called safe. Is that against the rules? Never could figure out if he didn't see it or it was a-okay to do that, never saw anyone do that but me.

Umpire judgement will come into play there. IMO If I see this and there is no intentional attempt to interfere then no problem. This is often the case in youth games, the kids are awkward and haven't developed all the proper skills yet. If the umpire judges it to be an intentional act of interference then the runner would be called out.

On top of that if I judge that your intentional act of interference had potentially prevented a double play I could also call the batter out at first for your interference. Thats where the fun begins <insert evil grin smilie>

Haha alright, thanks for the detailed answer. I was the fat kid, they felt sorry for me. But I did make the winning out to win us the big game that got us to the play offs that year (right field >)), and I also drove home a winning run in another big game. I didn't do much, but when I did I made an impact. :D Always loved baseball, can't stand watching it, but love playing it.
