Simply the best, from top to bottom
I've been with KnownHost since April 2008 and my experiences have been fantastic throughout.
They came highly recommended to me, but when I was submitting messages to their sales department with additional questions, I was getting answers within minutes. No sales pressure in any of them, just simple answers to my questions.
All this took place the day after a discount offer had expired, but they generously extended the discount to me. And that discount is still applied to my account each and every month. How easy would it have been for them to explain I was just too late to get the discount?
They set up my VPS very quickly, moved my sites over and I was in business without any issue.
I've rarely ever had to submit tickets for anything other than self-inflicted problems, but having to wait more than 20 minutes for a response is extremely rare. And time of day has nothing to do with it, their replies are as prompt at oh-dark-thirty as they are during normal business hours.
I will fully admit you could write everything I know about managing a server on the head of a pin, with a very dull crayon. But with the KnownHost techs behind me, everything still runs smooth as silk. Very early on, I needed to add some software to the server and I was approaching the install with more than a little caution. I submitted a ticket to ask if they could answer a question about one aspect of the install. Within minutes, I had a reply telling me not to fret, as they had already installed the software for me. They are fast, they are polite and they are even friendly in all their responses to my requests.
I imagine there must be some question KnownHost answers in the negative, but I'm yet to find what it is.
Downtime is practically non-existent. I don't think I've experienced more than 3-4 service outages in all my time with them. And on the rare occasions it does occur, someone from KnownHost opens a new topic on their company forums and will keep making regular updates to the topic as the problem is resolved. They had some problems with power to a server cabinet 7-8 months ago and we were down for the best part of an hour. That is the worst outage I've experienced with them. I bet my total downtime with them over the last 33 months has been less than 90 minutes.
Every year, the KnownHost Santa Claus visits their customers at Christmas. This past year, my Christmas present was an upgrade to my Managed Hybrid plan. I was bumped from 1.5 GB of RAM to 2 GB, from 100 GB of disk space to 150 GB and from 2,000 GB of transfer to 5,000 GB. All at no charge. Had I upgraded my plan to have those additional features, KnownHost could have billed me an additional $50/month, yet they gave me the upgrades for Christmas. What did you get from your host for Christmas?
As I've been typing this, I've been trying to come up with some aspect of being a KnownHost customer that has been less than first cabin. And you know, I just can't come up with even one.
If you are looking for a host that will manage your server and leave you to run your Web sites, I cannot think of anyone better than KnownHost.
