What happens if we are presented with a scenario where members ask you if you could allow larger images to be attached to posts?

For example members are asking you they want to upload a gif file that is 800 x 600 and they are unable to do so because we are using the default size of 620 x 280.

What we do to change this is navigate to the Attachment Manager:

Admin CP >> Attachments >> Attachment Manager

Once there we look for the gif attachment type. Look across the columns until you see a drop down box at the end. Edit is the default option selected, so we click on the go button.

We are then presented with an editing screen with lots of options.

We need to look for the Maximum Width and Maximum height fields.

In the Maximum Width field we would enter "800" without the quotes.

Just below is the Maximum Height field in here we would enter "600" without the quotes.

Then scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click on Update.

However what normally happens when you increase the maximum width and maximum height of the gif image. The byte size of the file increases. So you may have to increase the value in the Max Filesize (in bytes) field as well. Tweak this setting until members are able to upload an 800 x 600 gif image.
