Default Competition sending over their own?

Have you ever had a forum that is a competitor of yours send someone from their own forum to yours to basically criticize everything even though it is know they are a part of the other forum. How would you respond to something as pitiful as this?

I would change their password and email address so they could not log in.

We have had one person claim our site was a rip off of the forum he belonged to and claim him and the site owner were going to do this and that with their lawyers etc we had quite a laugh about it as nothing was a rip off and no content was stolen from the site he came from and to be honest him and his comments were a joke. It shows how pathetic some people really are.

I haven't been aware of people being sent over to criticize my site, and if they had I would look at what they criticized and explored further if it had merit. I warmly encourage criticism in various formats if it's explain to an extent that it's holding value in the way of improving the site, benefiting members who visit my site.

However, I've admined sites where people are blatantly obviously sent over controlled by the puppeteer, it's so obvious I can see the strings attached to (unnamed individuals) that only make themselves look like hypocrites vs the boards they work alongside and play the dumb game by ignoring everything they say to create a fuss. Paranoia is never a productive attribute, but being paranoid and obviously doing the competitors owners bidding is even more worrying in the way that it says you would trample over your own mother to impress any given individual.

I would close their threads, and send them on their way with the following message.....

All I can say is...

... br-br-br-bring it. *clutches banhammer*

Seriously, if these people are that intent on causing havoc on my forum because they don't like competition, then that clearly means I'm doing my job, and doing it well.

Because, that means they are scared.

Ugh, yes. I just call them on it publicly and ban. Unfortunately I've had to enact a policy that no staff from one particular site are allowed to be members on mine, because of this type of thing and theft.

I had one guy from a competing site (not forum) come onto mine with the sole purpose of advertising and trying to slate the site.

He got banned pretty quick.
